Sunshine Hotel, Zanzibar

Sunshine Hotel, Zanzibar

Sunshine Hotel, Zanzibar. The Sunshine Hotel is a great deal and a charming place to stay on one of the island’s best beaches. We think this is one of the best values in all of Zanzibar. What it lacks in comfort it more than makes up for in value. The hotel is in Matemwe, which makes it easy for people to get to Mnemba Island, which has some of the best diving and snorkeling in Zanzibar. Overall, it’s a lovely little property that helps keep the cost of a trip down.

Sunshine Hotel, Zanzibar: What You Need to Know

The Sunshine hotel has 15 rooms and is on the beach in the pretty Matemwe area on Zanzibar’s northeast coast. The Sunshine Hotel has a unique, laid-back vibe that is hard to find at this price range. It is eco-friendly, stylish, and cozy.

Each room has a safe deposit box, a double or twin bed with a large mosquito net, a private bathroom with a shower and toilet, a ceiling fan that works well, a strong standing fan, a small bedside fan, a stone bench with cushions, a wooden wardrobe, cool lighting, and a large balcony or veranda (except for the garden rooms). There are several types of rooms, and their prices vary:

The Sunshine Suites are in three bungalows with names like Clove, Cinnamon, and Coconut. They are set in a tropical yard. Each house has four rooms, two on the first floor and two on the second. There is a pool between the houses and the water. A few rooms have views of the tropical garden, while most have views of the ocean. In every Sunshine Suite, there is a large balcony or veranda with comfortable chairs where you can unwind.

The Honeymoon Suite is the nicest room. It is in a different building from the other rooms, so it is more private, and it is right on the beach. It has its own yard with a beach cabana and a small pool on the deck.

The Blue Breeze Suite is in the same building as the Honeymoon Suite, but it is higher up. The rooms are the same size, but one doesn’t have a private yard. Instead, it has a large terrace with comfortable furniture and a great view of the ocean.

The Garden Retreat Apartments are in the back and have a view of the sea. They are very well built and nice to stay in. It’s on two floors. The first floor has a bedroom and the second floor has a small “living room” and bathroom.

A great way to end a Southern Tanzania tour is to stay at Sunhine. Since Zanzibar is close to both Selous and Ruaha, it is a must to go to the island after an exciting adventure that kept you up late and early in the morning.

Sunshine usually goes well with either the real Lake Manze in the Selous or the Mdonya Old River Camp in Ruaha, or both! When you combine the Selous and Ruaha, you get two very different wildlife experiences that work really well together.

The Selous is lush, colorful, and full of streams where hippos and crocodiles relax. On the other hand, Ruaha is dry and rough, with baobab trees dotting the horizon, and it’s where huge groups of buffalo and elephants gather.

If you don’t have a lot of time or money, though, combining the Selous with Zanzibar is the best way to spend a week on vacation or your wedding. The South of Tanzania is the best place to go because flights within the country take very little time and aren’t too expensive.
