Qambani Luxury Resort, Zanzibar
Qambani Luxury Resort, Zanzibar. Qambani is luxury because it is so simple. It is a stylish and relaxing place to stay on the east side of Zanzibar Island in the Indian Ocean. People who stay in a beach shack instead of a marbled fancy number with silver service can spend more on a better trip before their beach vacation without giving up their perfect beach getaway. The prices start at $250 per person per night, which is a great deal for one of the most traditional places to stay on the island.
The Truth About Qambani
The six thatched villas each have their own style and are set on this beautiful northwest Zanzibar Island beach. There are choices for both families and couples on their honeymoon. The beach on the Michamvi Peninsula isn’t very big, but it’s in a great, out-of-the-way place, far from the tourist hubs to the south. It was nice that the hotel had a spa, two pools, and a small gym.
The two-bedroom, two-bathroom Castaway villa is in the western part of the building, close to the water. It has two double beds, a large deck, and beautiful views of the sea. It’s great for children because it’s on the ground floor. Plus, there’s a shower outside and a nice place to relax. The next door Coastal Villa is set up similarly. It too has great views of the sea and is right above the swimming pool.
The Africa house is filled with bright tribal textiles that go well with the soft dark wood and cream colors that run through Qambani. It has two floors for a couple, each with a double bed and a veranda with a view of the sea.
Sultan uses strange old furniture to express the spirit of Stone Town. This house has everything on the ground floor, and there is a double bed that can fit a couple. It’s to the east of the main area and has a lovely barazza where you can relax and enjoy the view of the sea.
The old school is called Plantation, and it has Persian rugs and a large two-story building. It’s very peaceful, and you can see more of the Indian Ocean from there. It works best for one person.
When you want a romantic trip for two, Sundowner house is the best choice. It has its own kitchen, a private pool right next to the ocean, and is located farthest east of the complex. There’s also a deck on the roof with a great view of the sea.
Qambani is also a great place to explore when you’re not in your room. You can go snorkeling, swimming, kite surfing, kayaking, or stand up paddleboarding. You might have to go further down the island to do some of these things, but it’s worth it to stay in this Swahili seaside hideaway away from everyone else.
