The best time to visit is from late May to early July, when the migration goes through this part of the park (Western Corridor). &Beyond’s high standards can be seen in the camp, which is in a quiet part of the park next to the Grumeti River.

Even though the cabin is made up of tents, it feels like a very well-kept property because the tents are set up on platforms. You can relax and enjoy the local pods of hippos in the main area. Historically the most luxurious fixed lodge in this area, but since Singita opened just to the north, the competition has grown.

The Details About the Grumeti Hotel Serengeti

Grumeti Serengeti is in the western part of the Serengeti. The best way to get there is by taking a light aircraft on one of North Tanzania’s regular trips. Not far from the lodge is its own airport. The best time to visit is from May to early July, but you can see wildlife in this outdoor area all year long.

The fancy lodge is split into a main area and an area with tents for sleeping along the Grumeti River. Tent rooms are split into 10 high-end tents with private bathrooms that are set up on wooden platforms along the river.

The lodge’s main area is very open and well taken care of. There is a small yard that leads down to the river, where there are always a few hippos relaxing in the water. There is a big pizza oven and a place called a “boma” where people eat dinner.

The Migration usually goes through this area from late May to early July. The herds do cross the Grumeti River, but it’s important to note that these aren’t the spectacular river crossings that happen later in the year in the Kogatende area, which is north of the Serengeti. Serengeti Safari is unique in this area for a short time each year.
