Singita Faru Faru Lodge. What We Think. One of our favorite hotels is Singita Faru Faru. A millionaire named Paul Tudor Jones built the lodge and runs it as a toy for himself. It is run by Singita. It’s likely that Faru Faru is the best safari camp in Tanzania. It is one of their three most important sites; the other two are Sasakwa and Sabora. It is in the private Grumeti Reserves, which are west of the Serengeti.

Singita Faru Faru Camp: What You Need to Know

Faru Faru is in the western Serengeti, in the private Grumeti Reserve. It is home to both Sasakwa and Sabora Tented Camp, which are both owned by Singita. Regular planes leave from Arusha and other cities in Tanzania to reach this part of the Serengeti. The area is private, so the only cars you’ll see on your Tanzania safari will be from one of the three Singita properties. This makes it a great place to stay for a Serengeti safari.

You can drive at night, ride horses, and walk because it’s a private park. It’s a modern take on the classic safari camp, and it has a lot of privacy, comfort, and great guides. It’s great during migration season, but the native game is so good that it’s a great spot to visit any time of the year. All three homes in Grumeti Reserves are perfect, but we think Faru Faru is our favorite because it is the most private.

The main part of the lodge is outside, and there are views down to a grassy area with a drinking hole that elephants often come to in the dry season. There are different lounge areas with wooden decking that lead down to a beautiful plunge pool. There are also many private eating areas that can be set up.

The Singita Faru Faru has 9 modern rooms that are very large and have views of the riverbed. Some rooms have windows that slide open with the touch of a button. The front of the rooms is made of glass all the way around. There is a bathroom both inside and outside, and each room has air conditioning. There is both a two-bedroom house and a family villa.

The main thing to do here is drive game drives in open-sided land rovers. However, in the private reserve, there is one of the best horseback safari companies in Tanzania. This is a great way for intermediate to expert riders to see the Serengeti.

In Northern Tanzania, a usual trip would start with a flight to the Ngorogoro Crater and then continue to the Serengeti. The Crater is very well known, but it can get crowded, and people can get tired of all the people. Pick the Serengeti if you can spend more nights there instead of the Crater. Because Singita has a private grant, it is easy to connect to another camp in the National Park.

The movement happens all year long. From November to March, it stays on the Ndutu Plains in the southern part of the park. From March to June, it moves north and west. In July, the herds move to the Kogatende area, which is where you can see some of the most famous river crossings. To make the most of your trip, if you want to see the herds but don’t want to go to the Singita concession at that time, you can combine Singita Explorer with a migration camp (maybe Singita Mara?) that is close to where the migration is happening.

A couple of hours away, there are some great places to go to the beach after an exciting tour at Singita. After a safari, there’s nothing better than having a cool drink on the beach, whether you’re on the island of Mnemba or in one of Zanizbar’s high-end hotels.

There are many hotels on the island of Zanzibar, but you should be picky about where you stay. A lot of the island is at sea, which means that the beaches aren’t always what you’d expect. There are beautiful villas for honeymooners and bigger villas for families at the Xanadu and White Sands hotels. These villas have all the amenities one could want. But Zuri has the best beach of all the hotels. Since the tide doesn’t come in or out here, you can spend all day lying on the white sand or playing around in the water. The many swimming clubs and bars are also great places to pass the time during the day.
