Kinasi Lodge might be the best lodge in Mafia. Mafia is a pretty far away island that hasn’t really become a tourist destination like Zanzibar has, so it doesn’t have many good, cheap places to stay. There’s Pole Pole, which is cheap but doesn’t have a beach, and Chole Mjini, which is better for people who like to take risks. But Kinasi has everything you could want. It has a good beach and spa. Sometimes you might find a great beach in Mafia. If you do, enjoy it!
Kinasi Lodge: The Truth About It
Kinasi is on a beach that is incredibly quiet and has a view of Chole Bay on Mafia Island. From Dar es Salaam, it takes 30 minutes to fly to Mafia Island, and it takes 20 minutes to drive from the airport to Kinasi.
The lucky place of Kinasi is on a steep mountain, which lets a cool breeze flow through the lodge and rooms. At this height, you can also get nice views of Chole Bay and the ocean. In the main area, there is a big bar, chairs, sofas, a library, and a place to play chess and cards.
The owners have learned to pay close attention to details and have a strong sense of ease and artisan style throughout. The bar area and sitting room are open-sided and have comfortable furniture, including pillows, mags, and a reference library with books about everything interesting in the area.
The grounds are lovely, and the pool is well thought out, with a bar and grill by the water. The different boats at Kinasi are based on their different types of stays. They have a game fishing and diving boat with 85 horsepower, a few traditional lateen sailing dhows, and two smaller dive boats. Kinasi has the best beach on the island, so it’s a lot of fun to go there. Most days are spent exploring the clear water, islands, and sandbanks.
There is a beautiful kitchen in Kinasi where delicious food is made. They make fancy meals and fancy picnic lunches, with homemade breads, yogurts, and a range of soups, and especially good seafood.
Kinasi Lodge has 14 rooms. Five of the rooms face the sea, and the other seven face the yard. The rooms are all laid out and designed the same way, though. This is the perfect place to stay if you want to go swimming while on vacation or on your honeymoon in Tanzania.
A lot of things can be done, such as sailing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. Plus, they have a tour guide right there who will gladly take you on a fun walk around the town.
