It’s in a great spot right next to a beautiful lake, and you can hear groups of hippos swimming nearby. There is no power in the lodge, which gives it a rustic look. However, its comfort and charm give it an old-world feel that other camps can’t match. In terms of adventure and value for money, the camp is hard to beat. It’s not five stars, but it’s pretty close.

Lake Manze Tented Camp: What You Need to Know

The Siwandu airstrip is only a 20-minute drive away, but we promise you’ll want to take a longer road! Lake Manze Tented Camp is a real, rustic safari camp tucked away among Doum palm and Terminalia trees. It’s in a great spot—right on the edge of Lake Manze, with a well-used elephant trail running right next to the camp.

There is a lot of great wildlife in the area, and it feels more like a real safari camp than one that tries to provide every comfort. It’s a small tent park with 12 nice, cozy tents that have great views of the river. All of them have private bathrooms with showers outside that you can use to cool off. Since there is no power in the tents, lanterns will keep you warm at night after a fun day on safari. People with camera batteries that need to be charged can do so at the main hall.

As Manze says, “less is more.” There is a big thatched roof over a sandy floor in the main room. A gin and tonic after a long day on safari would be a great thing to sip in one of the many sofas and seats that are spread out. The kerosene lanterns make the cabin feel like a warm, exciting safari at night. Manze is one of the most down-to-earth places to go on trekking in Tanzania.

At Lake Manze, you can go on game drives, walking safaris, and boat safaris. All of these are well-known activities. For guests who are interested, they also offer fishing trips, and the chefs can’t wait to cook your “catch of the day” for dinner. If you want to be out all day, all you have to do is ask!
