In the north of the Serengeti, you can have a very quiet time. You’ll only get this chance once in your life to see the Great Migration without a lot of other cars getting in the way.

What We Know About Sayari Camp

The Sayari camp is in the Kogatende area, which is in the north of the Serengeti. It was just remodeled. The camp is about a 10-minute drive from the airstrip. From Arusha, it’s a two-hour ride. Beautiful things can be seen in the Kogatende area. You can’t help but think that this is the place where Disney got the idea for The Lion King! The scenery is broken up by a group of tall rocks or trees that provide shade for the big cats and anything else that needs to get out of the African sun. I can’t even begin to think what the first explorers must have thought when they saw this incredibly beautiful and huge land.

A lot of honeymooners love the camp because it’s a beautiful, luxurious place to get away from the golden scenery. It’s a fixed tent camp right next to the river Mara, which makes it a great place to get to the river crossings. For a classic Serengeti tour, this is the way to go.

The 15 tents are especially big and well-equipped. They are set up on wooden frames that make them feel very safe. The bathrooms are sleek and stylish, and guests can choose between a scented bath and a walk-in shower. Not many tents can say that they have both!

The main area has two lounge and eating areas, a beautiful pool with views of the Serengeti ecosystem, a new library, and a spa where guests can get treatments during the day when they’re not watching animals.

Like all Asilia properties, this one has great service and a friendly staff. From the friendly smiles when you walk in to your favorite drinks at sundowner, you can be sure of an amazing experience.

Asilia has some of the best guides in Tanzania, and game drives are a great way to see a lot of wildlife. From July to the end of October, the Wildebeest migration goes through the Kogatende area. This gives visitors the chance to see some amazing river crossings.

However, there is plenty of wildlife all year long. With more than 500 different bird types and a growing number of big cats, going to Sayari when the migration isn’t going on isn’t a bad idea. People who want to avoid the crowds that come with the migration should go to the north of the Serengeti for a peaceful and luxurious stay.

A normal trip through Northern Tanzania would include a stop at the Ngorongoro Crater. Asilia’s The Highlands is a great place to stay while exploring the area around the crater and the Maasia villages that live there. This place is a great place to start your Tanzania tour and you should stay here for at least two nights.

If you have always wanted to spend a long time in the Serengeti, going south from Sayari to Asilia’s Namiri Plains is a great set of activities. Like Sayari, Namiri is a permanent camp with tents that gives you entry to parts of the Serengeti that are only now open to tourists. Big cats will love this place because there are so many cheetahs, so bring your camera and a memory card with lots of room.
