Asilia Namiri Plains Camp

Asilia Namiri Plains Camp

Asilia Namiri Plains Camp. What We Think. Anyone who loves cheetahs has to visit Namiri Plains. There are a lot of cheetahs here, and there are also a lot of other animals. Asilia owns Namiri Plains, so you can be sure that your tour will be one of a kind. New places don’t open up very often in the Serengeti, so we really think you should stay here.
Asilia Namiri Plains

Namiri is in the farthest eastern part of the Serengeti. It is about a two-hour ride from Arusha to get there. The area was closed for 20 years to give the cheetah population a safe place to grow. Now that it’s been realized that long-term success for the cheetah depends on steady tourists, it’s been reopened and Asilia has been named its guardian. Big cat country! This is without a doubt the best place in East Africa to see cheetahs, and it’s also a great place for experienced safari lovers to go on safari. There are a lot of cheetahs here, but there are also a lot of lions and spotted hyenas as well.

The Namiri fields camp is hidden away in a grove of fever trees. It is a small, private camp with great views of the endless fields that surround it. There are eight classic safari tents with large decks outside.

Namiri Plains is very far away compared to the Serengeti; the closest land is 45 minutes away. Before going on a game drive, guests can enjoy a morning breakfast picnic on top of the Soit Le Motonyi Rock.

The Ngare Nanyuki underground river forms permanent water pockets that are home to large groups of animals all year, including big cats and their prey. There are dramatic rock outcroppings in the fields, and the sunrises over the beautiful Barafu Kopjes to the east of the camp are always stunning.

If you’ve been on safari before, Namiri might not have everything you want, but if you’ve been on safari many times, this is the camp for you. You can spend all day watching these big cats interact with each other and their surroundings because they are in a remote area with few cars. If you’re patient, you might even see an exciting show when the cats try to catch their prey, like this amazing cheetah hunt.

When it rains, a lot of people move. From November to May, the eastern fields next to the volcanic highlands are covered in new grass that attracts wildebeest and other animals like a strong magnet. The volcanic highlands have fertile, nutrient-rich soils that were laid down millions of years ago. As far as the eye can see, the fields move back and forth like a black and gray wave as hundreds of thousands of animals come to eat at the lush green feast.

Even when it’s not migration season, Namiri is still a great place to see wildlife. There is a lot of plains game, and encounters between predators and prey happen often. There have been sightings that would make great photos, and if you can get a spot at the camp, you should go. With a mobile camp like Kimondo or Ubuntu that follows the bands of wildebeest all year, it works great together. You should also see the Ngorongoro Crater as part of a standard Northern Itinerary. Starting your trip at Asilia’s Highlands is a great idea.
